Gigirusso street&stage srl deals almost exclusively in street art, urban theatre and theatre for non-conventional spaces.
It was founded in 2002 by Luigi Russo, co-founder of the Ferrara Buskers Festival, the world’s biggest street music festival. Luigi was managing director of the Ferrara event for 32 years, from 1988 to January 2020, before striking out to develop new projects and make his experience available to institutions, businesses, associations and artists.

Luigi Russo, working first as a freelancer and then as manager of gigirusso street&stage srl, has brought street art to the whole of Italy, directing over 150 editions of festivals and designing and staging dozens of events from scratch.

Gigirusso street&stage srl, as well as being a theatrical agency specialising in street art, is also artistic director of six festivals: Artistidistrada in Switzerland, Arcadia Festivaldisole in Caldes (TN), Il Borgo Incantato in Gerace (RC), Macondo Festival in Francavilla al Mare (CH) together with Peppe Millanta, Castel del Giudice Buskers Festival (IS) and Scalea in Piazza (CS). gigirusso street & stage srl fully intends to carry on these artistic director activities after the founding of Instrada, and will continue to make the practical experience and knowledge accumulated since 1988 available to promoters of any kind of event.
